Christmas is coming...

Each year I make every intention to buy some gifts for Christmas early in the year; it can help to spread the cost & hassle of the season. But it never turns out that way. I find myself rushing around trying to root out the perfect gifts, often spending more than is necessary.

This year will be different! We've made an agreement as a family that we'll only spend £5 per person on gifts. My best friend and I have gone one step further and agreed to give each other something free (she doesn't know it will most likely be pencils...)

It will be quite a task to find gifts for £5 per person but I really think it'll be fun! I'm hoping to make a few of the gifts by baking cookies & making chocolates. I'm off to Taste Cumbria on Saturday and I'm sure to discover some perfect little presents for my foodie family members.

The point is, we don't really need anything. If I'm honest, I wouldn't mind not receiving anything, but it's lovely to be thought of at Christmas.

What do you think of our plans? Would you consider this for yourself? Let me know!

Love, Rebecca x

  1. I always try to set a budget, but usually go over it, if only a bit. There is nothing anyone in my family really needs, as it gets bought through the year by someone or other. I agree a token "thought of you" gift is lovely, to give as well as receive. This year I am determined to stick to a reasonable budget - prob more like £30 than £5 though, and I intend to make presents for people (found some fab wheat bag hand warmers, if you want the link). Also Lee and I started a new thing last year, where one of our presents has to be homemade - I love my heart shaped lego keyring :)

  2. It's a good idea to set a budget - otherwise it takes off with you! A link to the hand warmers would be lovely thank you :)
